The rules

Registration policy

Free events and ticketed events have different rules. Here are both, in plain words.

Two kinds of Flock Run, two sets of rules. Some of our events are free pop ups and some are ticketed. Which one you signed up for decides which half of this page applies to you. Your confirmation email says which it was.

Free events

Our pop ups, like Atlanta and Las Vegas, are free. There is no card, no fee, and nothing to pay on the day, so there is nothing to refund and no policy to argue about.

If you cannot make it, you do not need to tell us, though it helps if you do, because your spot goes back to somebody on the waitlist. Reply to your confirmation email and we will release it.

You cannot pass a free spot to someone else, because your name and your waiver are attached to it. Send them to the registration page instead. If it is full, put them on the waitlist. It moves.

Ticketed events

From here on, city events are ticketed. Your ticket is bought through our ticketing partner, not on this site, so their receipt, their confirmation and their support handle the money side.

Entries are non-refundable. That is not us being difficult. Permits, venue, security, medical staff, production and the crew all get paid weeks before anybody runs, so by the time you change your mind the money is already spent.

If you cannot make it, contact us before the event and we will do what we can. We would rather solve it than hide behind a policy page.

We run rain or shine

Heat, cold, rain, wind. Show up. We stop only for conditions that make it genuinely unsafe, and that call is ours to make.

If we cancel

If we have to call off an event for weather, an emergency, a permit problem or anything else outside our control, every registered runner hears from us directly by email with what happens next. For a ticketed event that means entry to a future Flock Run at no cost to you.

What we cannot cover is flights, hotels or anything else you booked around the day. Please do not book something you cannot afford to lose.

The waiver

Everybody agrees to a waiver at registration, and it is written for the state the event is in, because the law is not the same everywhere. We store which version you agreed to and when. If you want a copy of yours, ask and we will send it.

Your details

We keep what you give us to run the event and to tell you about Flock Runs near you. We do not sell it. Anyone working the event with us sees only what they need to check you in, and every time they look, it is logged. Ask us to delete you and we will.

Photos and video

There are cameras at every event and pictures may be used to promote the Flock Run. Tell a staff member on the day if you would rather not be filmed and we will keep you out of it.

Merch

There is no store yet. When there is, it gets its own return policy and it will not change anything on this page.
